BowlsLink security access levels updated

Bowls Australia has changed the permissions on various positions/roles within BowlsLink.Β Β To facilitate the change, BTS has updated the BowlsLink Access Request Form 2024-25Β to reflect these changes.

The BTS Database Administrator, Paul Hoddy, has updated existing members to fit into the new positions (Club Administrators and Pennant Administrators) for each club.Β  A list of access for club members will be issued to clubs to facilitate an audit of members with access.

Clubs are required to ensure only people who require access have access. Email the BTS Secretary to revoke access for members who no longer need it.

Use the NEW form before the start of the upcoming 2024-25 bowls season to seek access for all NEW appointees.

Reminder: It is the responsibility of the club to maintain their online cyber security.

Over 1 million people had their personal information published in a data breach in this case affecting NSW and ACT clubs. Read: Third-party providers a customer data β€˜weak spot’.

This is something to be mindful of and an example of why BowlsLink has introduced some stricter measures such as the one-hour session timeouts.
