The Southern Tasmanian Bowls Association (STBA) was formed in 1905 and is still the controlling body for lawn bowls in Southern Tasmania. In 2005, the STBA merged with the Southern Tasmanian Women’s Bowls Association (STWBA) to form a unified body representing both male and female lawn bowlers. And since that time, the STBA/STWBA has been trading as Bowls Tasmania South (BTS) – one of three regional authorities under Bowls Tasmania.
