Officials Forums 2023

To: Officials, Side Captains and Interested Players

Our regular 2023-24 Officials Forums have been scheduled for late October and November at 4 Clubs this year. The extra one will be held at Franklin.

The content of the forums is flexible with our Panel covering a few key areas and changes to the Conditions of Play.Β  The Side Captains Guide has also undergone minor revision based on the updated Conditions of Play.Β  Hence our forums touch on the changes therein too and progress to an open Q&A discussion usually on the deeply discussed laws, conventions of the game as well as aspects of etiquette.

The face-to-face forums each conclude with the opportunity to undertake the common measurement drills and share best practice techniques in the various pieces of measuring equipment.

Side Captains, Umpires, Measurers and Markers and are our key audience but all bowlers with an interest in knowing the rules and fair play principles are welcome to join our discussions.

Officials wishing to volunteer to cover the BTS Championship Finals, State‑Wide Challenge, Gala Week, Seniors Championships and/or Champions of Champions Singles should also make attendance a priority.

We hope to see you at one of our evenings.

Regards

Michael Andersch
Chair, Bowls South Officiating Panel
