BTS Grant approvals to date

As at 2 December 2022, the BTS Finance Committee has approved $18,000 (excluding GST) in BTS Grants:

Beltana

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To help cover the costs of club shirt, pants and shoes for five new members.  Read about the success of Beltana’s efforts.
  • Junior Development Incentive.  To introduce a Club Junior Scholarship (one scholarship for each of the three schools in the local community) for coaching and playing.

Cygnet

  • Player Participation Incentive. To help support the barefoot bowls initiative with the purchase of 5 club shirts (for presentation to new bowlers who take up pennant) and the purchase of more modern second-hand bowls for loan to new bowlers.

Franklin

  • Player Participation Incentive. To help run our Friday night social roster and to purchase of extra club uniforms and second hand bowls to help encourage the social bowlers to fill in our pennant teams.
  • Junior Development Incentive.  To go towards running a school holiday program over 2 days with coaching and ending in a tournament.  Each participant will receive a completion certificate and winners will get medals.

Geeveston

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To promote Bowls in the New Year through Work Place Competitions, Barefoot Bowls, Schools and Local Groups days, and Social Bowls Wednesday & Saturday during Winter.

Glenorchy Rodman

  • Player Participation Incentive. To purchase some second hand bowls that are of a more user-friendly size for some of the lady and elder participants in the club’s barefoot bowls program.

Howrah

  • Player Participation Incentive / Junior Development Incentive. To help set up an inter-school bowls competition, that will include student competitions, teacher competitions, a “bring your grandparents” day and a family fun day.

Kingborough

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To enhance the under-patronised Monday afternoon Random Draw competition and the Thursday evening Barefoot Bowls competition.
  • Junior Development Incentive. To supplement the current “come and try” activities with local and Hobart based high schools and colleges though their physical education programs by adding an after-school lawn bowls training and competition program.

New Norfolk

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To enhance the existing barefoot bowls 10 week completion by introducing initiatives and prizes to encourage more Juniors and female participation.

North Hobart

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To introduce a mid-week social bowls competition and encouraging social and private group bowls that show an interest to play pennant bowls up to 5 times during the year.

Oatlands

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To provide an opportunity for the local community to engage in a non-threatening barefoot bowls program with a focus on fun and social interaction.

Orford

  • Player Participation Incentive / Junior Development Incentive. To assist in the progression of social bowlers to full registered player status by providing financial assistance to social bowlers to support their participation in pennant competitions.

Sandy Bay

  • Player Participation Incentive / Junior Development Incentive.  To purchase twelve (12) sets of green and gold size 00 bowls from Ozybowls (half costs paid with the grants and half paid by the club) to enhance our tutoring program with three local schools.

Sorell

  • Player Participation Incentive. To purchase more sets of bowls, kitties, mats, tapes, chalk, etc to enhance the club’s ability to cater for new bowlers of various skill levels in our new barefoot bowls program.
  • Junior Development Incentive. To work with the Sorell District Parents and Friends Association (SDPFA) to enable junior participation during the week,

Taroona

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To purchase additional pennant uniforms and second-hand bowls to create a reserve stock for temporary loan for use by social bowlers in pennant matches.
  • Junior Development Incentive. To promote and fund a dedicated school holiday bowls program in conjunction with Taroona High School, Taroona Primary School and the Taroona Community Network.

Tasman

  • Player Participation Incentive.  To help discount club fees for pensioners, concession card holders, students and new first time players, and to assist first year participants with bowls clothing.
