Determined Dover topple Rosny

With the top four being settled, all eyes turned to the bottom of the table where Buckingham, Dover and Rosny Park were battling it out to stay off the bottom.

A determined Dover rallied together to beat Rosny Park on all rinks by 24 shots. With high quality bowls from all players on both sides, Roger Dale’s rink of Glenn Jager, Heath Seabourne and Linda Freeman overcame slow start to defeat Peter Bannister by 10 shots. Jarrah Allan, with third Clinton Seabourne providing great support, scored a seven on his way to a 25-17 win over Michael Eiszele. Josh Lording was in fine form, beating Dale Maundrill by five shots.  Rosny’s Darren Monks fought hard to make a comeback against Jacob Sherrin-Wall, but it wasn’t enough with Sherrin-Wall winning by one shot.

Buckingham moved off the bottom of the ladder with a 10-4 eight shot overall win over Cremorne.  Andrew Chamberlain was the big winner with a 27 shot win over Brad Knight. Chamberlain was well supported by lead Dave Dyer and second Robert Stringer. Craig Owen had a tight four shot win over Ralph Tieman. For Cremorne, Peter Marshall staged a great finish to defeat Todd Oakley by 10 shots and Leigh Munnings played some great draw shots to win by nine shots against Grant Chamberlain.

KIngborough remained on top with a 12-2 16 shot win over Brighton. Jason Fowler had a comprehensive 14 shot win over Grant Wakefield, Will Coad defeated Matthew Breward 19-11 and Jarod Long beat Tony Bartninkaitis by three shots. For Brighton, John North defeated Ryan Guy 23-14.

Glenorchy Rodman showed why they will finish in a top two position, defeating Sandy Bay 12-2 by 34 shots. Tony Vince, with Rod Turner, Steven Clifford and Daniel Gahan all playing great bowls, had a massive 30 shot victory over Ryan McCoull and set up the win for Rodman. Luke Turner also beat Keghan Booth 25-16, while Jack Ellis defeated Andrew Norris by three shots. Justin Plummer beat the in form Isaac Maughan to secure two points for Sandy Bay.

Claremont had a comfortable 12-2 win over Beltana by 26 shots. Nick Chilcott’s rink of Joy Voss, John Davis and Phillip Brown were in good form to defeat Steven Midson by 12 shots. Claremont’s Shane Peck and Paul Hart both had eight shot wins over Shane Young and Nick Courto respectively. Michael Coppleman secured two points for Claremont, beating Michael Taylor 19-17.
