A new ladder leader emerged in the Thursday Womenโ€™s Division 1 Pennant as Dover fell further behind the pack. Kingborough moved to the top of the ladder after comprehensively defeating last placed Dover 12-0 by 21 shots. The big winner of the day was Vicki Bannister, who had a 15 shot win over Debbie Oโ€™Donnell. With Pauline Connell and Greta Murray playing consistently as the lead and second and Sue Mann providing solid backup as a three, Bannister led all day after the third end. Sue Clark, with support from Laura Best, Lee Shead and Kerrie Lane, had a close contest with Kathleen Townsend, but drew away in the last four ends to win 22-18. Leonie Price battled against Sheryl Phillips to win by two shots.

Sorell adapted to windy conditions to surprise Howrah and win 10-4 by 13 shots. Vicki Philpโ€™s rink of Beth Connell, Barbara Walker and Karen Scott comfortably defeated Rosie Geeves 24-9. Patricia Taylorโ€™s rink played consistent bowls all day to beat Charon Foster by 15 shots. Sandra Hawksley was the only winner for Howrah, defeating Faye Gardner 26-9.

Sandy Bay jumped up to second on the ladder after defeating fourth placed Claremont on all rinks by 20 shots. Jacqueline Phillips played some great skipโ€™s bowls to defeat Joy Voss by 11 shots, winning 14 of the 21 ends. Robyn Leggett beat Jan McPherson 18-13, while Chris Dowl was victorious over Maree Morgan by four shots.

Rosny Park had a great team performance to defeat Orford on all rinks by 18 shots. After being down early, the Rosny rinks rallied with Ailsa Milburnโ€™s rink of Diane Petrie, Veronica Willcox and Sandra Scott leading the way with a 22-14 win over Carol Bannister. Christine McGrath, with Marlene Wakefield playing well in the second position, defeated Therese Gatenby by six shots, while Gaylene Ridgeway beat Jenny Martyn 19-15.

Glenorchy Rodman had a tight 8-4 win over Buckingham by 10 shots. Debbie Stearnes was the only winner for Rodman over Christine Thompson by 16 shots, but the margin was enough to give Rodman the overall win. For Buckingham, Jeanette Lane defeated Crystal Brooks 18-14 and June Guy beat Roseanne McCann by two shots.
