Claremont crushes Rosny

Claremont showed why they were promoted to the Bowls South Saturday Premier League with a resounding all rinks 24 shot win over Rosny Park.  With Joy Voss in scintillating form in the third position, Michael Taylor led all day to defeat Dale Maundrill 23-18. Shane Peck’s rink of Paul Grover, Paul Davie and Phillip Brown all played brilliant bowls to easily account for Rosny’s Graham Rowbottom 26-16. Paul Hart, with Craig Coad playing well in the two position, was able to come from behind to defeat Darren Monks by four shots. Nicholas Chilcott had a close battle with Peter Bannister to come out five shot winners.

Glenorchy Rodman battled hard against Buckingham at home to win 10-4 by 23 shots. Isaac Maughan, with good support from Tony Vince, showed all his talent in defeating Alvin Cooke by 22 shots. Steve Clifford, with Crystal Brooks leading well and Jack Ellis playing some big bowls, defeated Andrew Chamberlain 25-16.  For Buckingham, Grant Chamberlain was in fine touch and had good support from third Rob Stringer to defeat Paul Cruise 25-19, while Todd Oakley defeated Luke Turner by two shots.

Kingborough demonstrated their strength and overall depth by easily accounting for Cremorne 12-2 by 31 shots at the Kingborough Indoor Centre.  Kingborough was well set up by Will Coad’s rink of Robert O’Neill, Shane Garth and Callum Dinning who overwhelmed Leigh Munnings by 15 shots.  Jason Fowler was in outstanding form for Kingborough to defeat Ralph Tieman 28-19, while Ryan Guy beat Peter Marshall by 12 shots.  Cremorne’s sole winner was Brad Knight, who had a great tussle with Jarod Long to win by five shots.

Sandy Bay defeated Brighton 12-2 by four shots, with Bryce Guy’s rink of Justin Plummer, Stewart Cashion and Andrew Carswell leading the way with a 16 shot win over Greg Fehlberg.  Sandy Bay’s Darren Beattie defeated Matthew Breward 22-19 and Keghan Booth beat John North by four shots.  Grant Wakefield kept Brighton in the game with 19 shot win over Ryan McCoull.

Dover travelled to Beltana to secure 12 points with a 15 shot win.  Jacob Sherrin-Wall defeated Keith Miller 36-12, Josh Lording beat Steve Midson by two shots and Brad Carver had a tight battle with Nick Courto to come out one shot winners. Shane Young defeated Roger Dale 28-16 to get Beltana two points.
