Background

The Bowls Tasmania South (BTS) Board has determined to use BowlsLink for entry into its regional championship events, the payment of entry fees, and the conduct of the draw for each championship event.

In accordance with the Terms and Conditions for the use of the BA BowlsLink Payment Gateway, BTS has registered to obtain payment of entry fees via the BowlsLink system (Services).  BTS will incur a merchant fee of 1.96% for each transaction through the Gateway.

Entering an event

  1. Players intending to enter a BTS Championship event will initiate entry procedures by logging into BowlsLink, then click on β€œEntries” immediately under the β€œCompetitions” heading, and then access the particular championship event.
  2. For team events it is a requirement that the names of all members of the team are included for the entry to be accepted.
  3. The player (Singles) or the person entering a team should use the Bowls Australia ID number of each team member (the player BA ID numbers is available on the BTS website) to ensure the correct name is entered.
  4. One member of the team must be identified as the β€œContact Person” (usually the person entering the team into BowlsLink) for administrative purposes.
  5. To complete the entry process, the full entry fee must be paid via the BowlsLink system. For team entries, the person entering the team should make private arrangements with her/his teammates regarding reimbursement.

Withdrawing from an event

  1. If a player (Singles) or whole team (team events) withdraws from a BTS Championship event before entries have closed a refund of the entry fee, minus a 2% administration fee, may be obtained by submitting a BTS Refund Request Form (attached and accessible on the BTS website).
  2. If one player in a team event withdraws, a refund is not available from BTS.  This is a matter for the team to resolve.  In team events, where a member of the team is no longer available, an eligible replacement player should be obtained in accordance with WB Laws and BTS Condition of Play 2.19(b).
  3. Once entries have closed a refund will not be available except upon production of a medical certificate or on compassionate grounds, which must be included with the BTS Refund Request Form.
  4. If BTS either cancels or significantly relocates a BTS Championship event in such a way as to make it impossible for a player (Singles) or team (team events) to participate then a refund of the entry fee would receive favourable consideration, on receipt of the BTS Refund Request Form with an explanation of inability to play attached.
  5. No refunds will be provided if a player (Singles) or a member of a team (team events) is deemed to be ineligible to enter the event if ineligibility is discovered after the closing date of the event. (Condition of Play 2.4 (b) (iii) applies).

Participation in an event

  1. It is the responsibility of the team Contact Person to inform the Match Manager before play, on the day of play, of any changes to the team as it was entered into BowlsLink.
  2. The Match Manager will have the responsibility of ensuring appropriate changes are made to the team in BowlsLink and on the scorecard for the match (or matches) on that day of play.
  3. At all times, the names on the scorecard must correspond to the actual persons playing in that round of play.
  4. BTS Player of the Year points, prize money and names inscribed on BTS trophies will be those entered in BowlsLink, and on scorecards. BTS accepts no responsibility for errors that arise from non-compliance – see Condition of Play 2.20(c).
  5. The entry fee will be forfeit if a player (Singles) or team (team events) fails to appear at the BTS Championship venue within the time permitted.  A further fine of $20, in accordance with BTS Condition of Play 2.20, may also apply.
