COVID-19 – Stage 2 Restrictions Lifted Early

The following advice was received from Bowls Tasmania:

Another big and fast-moving day in the new world of COVID-19!    As you would no doubt be aware there has been some great news from our Premier today with Stage 2 of the Roadmap to Recovery being bought forward and will take effect from 3pm this Friday 5th June 2020.

With this announcement, Stage 2 of the Bowls Return to Play Document will also come into effect.  The big changes being that we now move from 10 people per green to 20 people and this also means that indoor centres can re-open.  This can include organised competition.  (Please keep in mind that there is still a restriction around 4 people per rink, with 2 at each end).

Bowls Tasmania has also had further discussion with Community Sport & Recreation and there has also been a further amendment to the Return to Play Document which is important to note.  The space between rinks has now been reduced to half a rink between rinks.

Bowls Tasmania is hoping this will allow Clubs to get more rinks in play, but it is important to remember that you must still adhere to 1.5m social distancing and the four-square metre rule must also be maintained.
