Bowls Tasmania Update 6 May 2020

Bowls Tasmania sent an email on 6 May 2020 to all members on its database hoping that all members are keeping well during this time.Β  Like them, Bowls Tasmania knows that all members are undoubtably missing their bowls, but asked everyone to continue to head all National and State Government restrictions so we can continue to beat COVID-19.

Members may have recently read about the relaxed restrictions regarding the participation in bowls beginning to be rolled out across Australia.Β Β  Β Bowls Australia last week released guidelines for Clubs to follow once restrictions have eased in their own State and people can begin getting back on the greens.Β Β  This time is not yet here in Tasmania, but Bowls Tasmania looks forward to when that time comes and will keep all Clubs informed when that time is here.

Bowls Tasmania President Graham Hay and CEO Rebecca Van Asch have been involved in discussions with the Hon. Jan Howlett MP, Minister for Sport & Recreation, and other peak sporting body representatives in Tasmania to continue working on a safe return to play for all sports across the state.Β  The Australian Institute of Sport has also released a framework for rebooting sport in Australia that Bowls Tasmania is also working closely with.

Bowls Tasmania will keep all Regions, Clubs and Members informed as things progress in this area and we look forward to returning to the greens safely soon.Β  In the meantime, please remember, STAYING HOME SAVES LIVES!
